This 6 hour training provided via Zoom will equip attendees with the knowledge and skills to facilitate Keeping Adolescent Youth Safe on the Internet.
Today’s adolescents are growing up in a world deeply connected to technology. Tweens and teens often navigate online relationships and digital choices independently—making it essential for the adults in their lives to be informed and prepared.
Keeping Adolescent Youth Safe on the Internet provides a deeper understanding of the digital risks youth face, including online grooming, in-person grooming facilitated by digital communication, sexting, and exposure to pornography. It also addresses the legal consequences of both consensual and non-consensual sexting among minors.
Participants will learn how to:
Train adults on strategies to help keep youth safe in digital environments
Train adults how respond to concerning digital behaviors in adolescents
Train adults how to support youth facing online exploitation or unwanted behaviors
Train adults on resources for removing harmful content from the internet
The training is conducted live via Zoom and includes interactive discussions, activities, and demonstrations.
This training is ideal for educators, clinicians, case workers, and other professionals who work with or support adolescents.
